The story of this cabriolet
The cabriolet was built on the 4th of July 1957 and was delivered to Freiburg the day after. The first owner was Elisabeth Grabmeister-Ruh, a female dentist working in the University Clinic of Freiburg at the Rampartstrasse 10 in Freiburg. The car was registered for the first time on the 9th of July and its first registration was FR-AR985. She owned the car for almost 19 years, until she sold it to an 18 year old woman named Gabriele Klausmann. The cabriolet stayed in Freiburg im Breisgau and kept its registration FR-AR985. But not for long. Only 7 months later, on the 8th of November 1976, three weeks after her 19th birthday, she sold it to Bernd Böhler-Feenstra, a land surveyor (Vermessungstechniker) from Müllheim. The registration changed to FR-C1196. He owned the cabriolet for 5,5 years and sold it to Karlfrieder Graf from Lörrach on the 26th of April 1982. The registration changed to LÖ-CC731. After 2 years, on the 17th of May the previous owner (Bernd Böhler-Feenstra) bought the car back and registered it under FR-VW17. He only kept it for a short while though, because on the 20th of May 1985, a little over a year later, he sold it to Bernhard Edinger, a lawyer from Müllheim.
The next owner was Frank Paulin. On the 13th of August 1991 he sold the car to Frank Willamowski from Frankfurt am Main for DM 12800,-. The car got the registration LDK-XT790. He owned the car for about 14 years. After 14 years the car was put up for sale on eBay Germany where Frank Paulin bought the car back again for € 9500,-. Frank Paulin owned the car for 20 years until he sold it again. As far as I know the cabriolet was never driven in those 20 years. The car has had 8 unique owners, 2 of those owners owned the car twice.
Currently the car is fitted with Porsche 356 A brakes and sits on 356 wheels. There are a lot of documents available that show that Bernd Böhler-Feenstra already fitted the car with Porsche 356 A brakes and wheels. Later Frank Paulin added a Porsche motor to the car, but I believe the car was never driven with the Porsche motor.
The cabriolet is currently based in the Netherlands, Europe.
